Det kom så en stor overraskelse, da det i går kom frem, at man ved midnat kunne få fingrene i en helt ny plade med Kim Larsen. 12 nye sange som ingen havde hørt før, er blevet udgivet på albummet ’Sange fra første sal’
Albummet er indspillet hjemme i Kim Larsens stue i Odense knap fem måneder før, at han valgte at stille træskoene og takkede af. Han døde den 30. september sidste år i en alder af 72 år, og sangene indspillede han fra den 29. april til den 2. maj.
Kim Larsen har stort set skrevet alle sangene på pladen selv, og den er lavet i samarbejde med hans nære ven, Jørn ”Ørn” Jeppesen, og sønnen Hjalmer.

Albummet blev frigivet på de forskellige streamingtjenester fra midnat, og de er nu også tilgængelige på Youtube, hvor man altså kan høre 12 splinternye sange med den folkekære sanger.
